It was great to make the effort to attend the Jason Corbiere's Holiday Revue on Christmas evening. It was a singular event live Blues music event anchored Jason Corbiere of Roomful of Blues on drums, Greg Izor on harmonica, Dave Keller on guitar, John Harris on bass and featuring a great unexpected surprise was a horn section with Nick on trumpet and Eli on trombone. Dave Keller mentioned to the audience that they only get together once a year at Christmas with little or no rehearsal. Folks, Let me tell you, you couldn't tell. They sounded like that played as a group weekly which should tell you what caliber musicians we are talking about here. This was a full-bore, high-caliber live Blues at its best to a full room with an appreciative audience. The way it should be.
I will write some more on this event when I find more time but I had to say out loud, in public that another great Blues show was in town. We need to figure out how to make this group appear more often, not just a musical gift of great Blues at Christmas.
