What do I listen to?

Hi Ho TMB Fans -

What do I listen to when WWPV is not broadcasting? Dare I say? I do.

Until WWPV starts broadcasting at 10am EST, I have been listening to a Blues show out of a wonderful public/education/community radio station, KRVM Eugene, OR. Specifically, KVRM's "Breakfast With the Blues" show, Mon - Fri, 5:30am - 8:00am PST, Sat. 5:30am - 9:00am PST, & Sun: 7am - 11am. Now...don't forget to add 3 hours to the times *and* do not forget to tune into WWPV 88.7 FM as well. ;-) Let me say...I regularly listen to the expertly delievered Blues programming on KVRM...but...it is so much fun to listen to the high schoolers DJ their own shows. I would like to do more of that locally. The only problem with listening to the various "Breakfast With The Blues" shows is the impact on my self-esteem and how much my own show needs to improve just to keep up. :-)

Sincerely, KVRM is just but one example of educational/community radio around the United States staffed and run by dedicated volunteers and funded, in part or whole, by donations from individuals and businesses. VPR, WWPV, and WRUV are just three examples of community & public radio in Vermont alone. There are more. I encourage you to seek them out and support them with your listenership and donations. With the advent of the Internet, it is bring more of these stations to our attention and through our PC speaker systems.

In summary, just remember to support your friends & neighbors whether they be local musicians, DJs, local public/community radio and live music venues.

Note: Don't confuse "Breakfast with the Blues" with the great local Blues band Blues for Breakfast. Actually, since they are both good, there really isn't really any confusion there. It's all good.

Roomful of Blues is coming to Burlington VT on Nov. 17 for a live performance at Club Metronome.
