Greg Izor at Nector's Last Night

By a wonderful convergence of random but fortunate events, I was able to hear Greg Izor blow his Blues harp at Nector's last night (Saturday, Dec 17, 2005).

Let me tell you, it was a great show. Greg can sing and play that "Mississippi Sax" like no one's business but his own. He was fronting a tight & smokin' quartet which support Greg's vocals & playing but acquitted themselves supremely when it was their turn for some playing in the spotlight. The quartet was well-balanced and unpretentious, i.e. these guys are "Blues musicians" giving their all for the audience not their egos.

The excellent rhythm section was anchored by none other than Roomful of Blues' Jason Corbiere on drums and Rob Meehan on bass. (Great work...I am real partial to the rhythm sections...jealous of anyone having something that I want and don't have....and I am a huge Roomful of Blues' fan) The lead guitar duties were deftly and smoothly executed by Bill Darrow.

Well Done Everyone! I can't wait to see you all together again.
